Pesta Tanglung

I went to the Lantern and Acrobatics Festival at Pesta the other day. The lanterns were very pretty. The Acrobatics team was ok. They aren't Cirque du Soliel but it was alright. There were quite a few people there. More than I would've expected anyway... Overall, it's kinda pretty and fun.


The arch-way that welcomes you to the festival. The dragons on top actually move mechanically, as do most of the bigger exhibits inside.


This is three Gods of somethings. The big shadow over there is my father looking blur.


An array of lanterns, big and small, hanging from the ceiling. They line the ceilings of the corridors leading to the exhibits.


This is a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, long dragon. The mouth of the dragons moves. And the dragon comes complete with claws. It's gotta be pretty stable for it to be so long though.


That's a camwhore trying to prove that the dragon arch is tall. Yes, yes.


This peacock (and there are three) is made of bottles of coloured fluids. Painful for the eyes but fascinating nonetheless.


This particular exhibit is made from china. I don't mean the country but rather china - plates and cups and saucers and bowls all wired together.


Like everything typically chinese, there will be twelve animals up in line representing the chinese zodiac. I was on my way to snap a picture with my zodiac animal - the cow- but the rat ate me on the way....

Ok, my level of lameness has definitely increased over he years. Tsk tsk...

Obssession

Since I am totally obsessed with Heroes, I was wondering if I should go dark and make this blog, gloomy and smoky again by getting a Heroes template... However, the last time I went glommy and dark, it got a little depressing to visit this here site everyday.

But since I'm going to put up the picture of Milo Ventimiglia // Peter Petrelli // ♥ I think it won't be so boring :)

I love Heroes. Even though it's so annoying cause it's so THE DRAMA and everyone knows I don't put up with drama! BUT HELL IF I CARE! Heroes rocks. Anything half as exciting as this has got to have my vote.

I love Isaac Mendez and his ability to paint the future. I love his drawings too because everyone knows I am a total comic book fan whore and I love the comic-like script that the entire series is built on.

I love Peter Petrelli because he is Milo Ventimiglia! :P :P :P Ok, no. I love him because he is the most screwed up hero and you all know how screwed-up-ness makes people ten times more appealing to me. I would love to see him obtain all that power and control it. He's so cool. And the power just appeals to me even more.

I like Nathan Petrelli cause even though he's a complete arsehole, he's real hot! :P

I like Claire and Zach cause they are so, so cool!

I love the way the plot never ends. In a way, the style of Heroes works a little bit like Harry Potter. Clues from all over the beginning finally falling in at the end. and it never ends! There's always something going on and it never runs out of excitement!

Ok, I'll stop ranting about 'Heroes' but I seriously, highly recommend everyone to watch it.

BWAHAHA you stupid 'Heroes' people are a few good years too late on discovering this fact: Milo Ventimiglia is DA BOMB! He's also MINE! BLEK!

The Best Thing

This is the best thing about Chinese New Year!



LION DANCE!!! I love Lion Dances! I think they are so exotic and authentic and there's nothing more culturally fascinating as the lion dance.

A close up of two of the lions. I find the lion's fascinating. I love the 'bulu'! :P It's so cute. You know, when I was young I had a mini lion and I played with it all the time. I actually adored lion dances for so long.

Chinese New Year second days are always spent at Uncle Michael's watching the customary six lions dance around. I think they're just so adorable! KAWAII! Too bad these lions don't go on the stilts. Those I love even more!

Black and red ushers in the new year

That's a picture of me driving the brand new Honda City 3 days old. The last time I came back, a Proton Savvy greeted me. Now, a Honda City. What's next? A car for me? (Wishfully thinking :P)

I think the Honda City has really cool steering and for a car with AMT makes very little noise. It's very stable, it's smooth but the brakes aren't the best and neither is the in-built sound system. But it still gets my vote.

(Oh by the way, the car changes gear on the steering wheel! Sound familiar? :P)

Chinese New Year normally, is just a time for me to mourn the lost relationships and happier times. But that doesn't mean we can't have a nice dinner.


This is the four seasons dish in replacement of the customary yee sang - thank goodness. No one in my family eats yee sang and at least, this time, we acknowledge that wasting food is not worth upholding tradition. Yay, Daddy for ordering food that I eat.


This is Shark Fin's soup. Something I love a lot. But it honestly wasn't that good over here.

Just some dishes we had. You will find no more of this ten course dinner because after that I got too lazy to take pictures. Busy eating ler...


Oh and just for fun, here is Darth Tater and his minions. Yes, last night, me and my bro finally got around to fixing them up. Aren't they adorable?
